Since its establishment in 1780, Chaumet’s history has developed being part of the history of France. After working in Queen Marie Antoinette’s jewelry, the founder of the Maison, Marie-Etienne Nitot, established his own aristocratic clientele and became Emperor Napoleon I official jeweler.

As a designer, and innovator at the same time, he fulfilled orders of the Empress Joséphine and later, Marie-Louise. He became the undisputed master of the Empire style and anticipated the Romanticism period, based on the sentimentalism.

Chaumet has been for 230 years the expert in fine jewelry which legacy has been transferred from generation onto generation according to each time Paris’ taste and fashion. The jewelry and watchmaking reflect this exceptional insight and knowledge and bring to light messages of love. The Romantic jewelry is again the linking theme for new collections.

 Chaumet’s headquarters  at Place Vendôme 12  consists of  design studio, the fine jewelry workshop, the boutique next to the Salon des Diadèmes and the XVIII century Grand, listed as historical monument.

Currently, Chaumet continues its international development as part of the LVMH group that has more than 70 boutiques located in main world capitals like Paris, London, Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Moscow and 400 wholesale points all over the world.
